Something Weird - Opposing DC Suddenly Appeared As A Striker And Scored

Something weird happened today in a league match. My team was dominating the match versus n non-favourite team, and yet the score was only 2-0. Suddenly, in the final quarter of the match, the opposing left-centred DC appeared in the position of where a right-sided striker would be (I mean the right-side ST's zone); he ran and then dribbled past my GK and slided the ball into the net like a world-class finisher. That was not a corner situation or anything where you would expect a DC to be so high on the pitch. Opposing manager was absent.

(1) How come a left-sided DC ended up in the right-sided ST zone in open play? No corner or free-kick. At most you would expect him to be as high as say a LCM. I mean he was completely off position (both side-wise and lengthwise). To compare, it was as if the manager switched the player set as the right-sided ST position with the player at left centre-back, except that there was no manager.

(2) How come a left-sided DC ran, and then dribbled past the goal-keeper (that too, one with one-on-one stopper S.A) and slided the ball into the back of the net like a world-class finisher?


For me, it is as if anything can happen during a match in this game to satisfy whatever the game has calculated or pre-determined, even if there is no sense at all in terms of football. No wonder why GKs have been scoring or assisting. The game seem to be 'gifting' goals to the opposition for whatever reasons, especially when the opposing manager is absent.

It is funny in some way, but it shows you how much nonsense there is in this game.

Sometimes my winger backs did that action (if I remember well, I had attack arrows on them).

I've had similar animations especially during matches I was favorite and dominating the game, difference was it was my DC who scored. It's more fair and realistic when DL and DR do that, since those positions are more about attacking.

DLs and DRs scoring, yes (DCs also score); wingbacks (DMLs and DMRs) yes, but not that way, and surely not a DL on the right hand-side like an AMR. It was like the game switched the player LCB with the player at RST position. The DC even scored the way a ST would score.

My DC's score from time to time being in very offensive positions, even with blue arrows. Totally nonsence.
But for me THAT is for sure not a proof for predetermined matches (which can be but I dont believe, as I turned a bunch of games after sub in my key players)

Yeah and given the the DC did not score any goal before this one this season, the game decided that it is going to be him.
