I should win but any advice or things I should know?;)

I usually play 4 - 1dmc - 2 - 2aml/amr - 1. Feel this defends against his AMC and st, while I keep most possession. You'll be fine go with your gut

For me, it is one of the formation to beat this season - one of those 0 or 1 MC formation that seem to do very well. I won't suggest any formation, but I will give a tip: things (formation and orders) that would have worked way back or things that some would expect to work might fail.Quote:

Passing Style: Short
Force Counter Attacks: On/Off (variable)
Pressing Style: Low (probably high for the game)
Tackling Style: Normal
Marking Style: Zonal (probably Man Marking for the game)
Play Offside Trap: No
Orders and the formation will depend on what you have in your team and what the opponent will be using as formation, orders, arrows, and what is being favoured by the game. Some of it you can find out during the match itself, but you said you won't attend the match. There is also that decision of game taking the side of one team for other reasons other than tactics. If this one goes much against you, nothing much would seem to work during the game. These days, it seems that formation itself on its own or even formation and quality do not matter much (unless it is the case of large difference in quality). So, many formations will beat many formations, including going against those compilations of counters here and there on the forum and elsewhere. Not that many of the counter formations are not good, just that the game seems different these days where others things can make a difference. A possible good advice would be to use something that would make use of most of the best performers in your team but still would counter the opponent. So this does not have to be just a formation selected just because of the opponent's formation only, but a formation selected because you can fit in it most if not all your best performers and can still be used together with orders and arrows to counter the opponent's formation, orders and arrows.Quote:

All 3 depends on the your preferences, style and the strategy you want to use or think would be best for a particular situation.
Let me take an example: facing the 4-4-2.
Opponent uses 4-4-2.
Findings or guesses: he is using an attacking mentality and he attacks through the flanks
What you can do?
Block the flanks and attack the flanks.
Block the flanks and attack the middle.
Block the flanks and attack with mixed focus.
If you think or can say to a certain confidence, he has red arrows on DL and DR, you can counter-attack by the flanks as there will be space there, or you can counter-attack through the middle if he has no blue arrows on the middle MCs and DCs.
So, you chose a suitable formation that will suit the strategy you will chose based on your findings. As you can see above there are different strategies. The more information (as accurate as possible) you can have on an opponent, the better.
