Forwards - any point playing them?

I have noticed over the past few seasons that my forwards just don't score enough goals. I have changed formation, gone attacking, put arrows all over the place, all with spec ability and 6*minimum with no better results. Even when I look at the top goal scorers chart, only one striker in there. Anyone else notice the same?

Yes, ST are a waste of time these days. For around a year now, my AMC AMR MR ML have been my consistent top scorers.
Sometimes I don't even play an ST and either put an AMC there or play an illegal formation and go with 2 AMC and no ST in that position. Makes no difference in my games.

my strikers are 3 out of my top 5 scorers. buy better ones and train them well

My ST will likely have 20+ goals this season and my sub ST has provided several late goals.

I had one for 10 seasons that got 250 goals, so yeah they can score, you just have to find the right ones.

Depends on how your players are lined up, really. If you play wingers, then your wingers are likely to rack up more goals than your ST. If you play no wingers meanwhile, say a 4-4-2 with a 1-2-1 diamond-shaped midfield, then your STs will do most of the scoring, alongside your AMC.

What skill % are your forwards? Mine are at least 6* with all their attributes above 100% and they have spec abilities. I have used different strikers too. Not sure if the level you play at also has an impact.

I don't think so, my top scorer with over 300 goals in 300 matches, has all white skills above 200%, with shooting and ending at 300%, positioning only 150%, so....

Depends largely on formation & tactics imo. My ST's rarely scored in my 3N 2W 2N 2W 1 with flank play, no matter their rating & stat distribution. I tried a lot of different things.

Then I switched formation to play a DMC in place of a MC & pushed up arrows on my lone MC. My ST started to score more, probably thanks to support down the middle.

My 300+ goals AML though consistently continues to score 60 - 70+ goals each season. With the current formation, my AMR, ST, MC, DMR & DML all appear on the scoresheet though no one comes close to my AML.
