what make a great player? I am just curious to know from you managers. Let see base on your experience and observant of this game.
1- player age
2- star rating
3- skill
4- balance/unbalance skill
5- feet/right-left both
6- position
7- or anything else?
I have my view of a great player but i like to hear from other manager first.

A great player is rated by his performance so I watch out for players that have a rating as good as this before I buy 9-10-10-9-10 and I tend to always buy assistant manager recommended players all the best players I've ever had from strikers to mc's to dc's have all come through this system
Of course his nature. Stars matter a bit.

I think it's another T11 Myth - lol
It's the manager who uses the right tactics (like watching the game, tactics, power-training, management, manipulating competition draws).
So his team has a great success and some players (usually the wingers and the F-K specialist), have many goals, assists and good rates.
The only special I can see, it's the "internal" talent (and stable performance) of a player in free kicks.
if you want to improve you player's performance and make him a great player,you need to train him and get skill points from the training
and regarding the player age,the younger the better it's proven that younger player have better training result so age plays an important role

So true,i had Van Basten and he was scoring almost every free kick he was taking(without having fk ability),then i had 2 players ,1 with fk ability,the other 1 without,power trained like i done with Van Basten,but they needed 3,4 fk's to score 1 goal,as they "don't have it" no matter how weak the opponent was.Quote:

I don't buy every recommended player I see because I power train my players and keep them for about 6 seasons so I only buy about one or sometimes 2 every season and they've never let me down always my top rated players even above my academy player that I gave a special ability and trained to 140%Quote:

As I said I'm new and don't know if this real or not, but it's logical.
Today I played and lost the CL final....lost a treble:mad:.
I was 112% playing against a 103% team. I am sure he had 11 scout players on pitch.
Match comment reported that result was expected as on paper they were much stronger than me....... even if I was 11% higher!!!
In my opinion the first attribute that makes a player great it's the internal talent until stars are comparable .
Above 2/3 stars difference, internal talent cannot help and the difference is more important.
this happened to me too! My first treble was in sight, hadn't lost any game in competion, CL or CUP and then the CL FINAL, the game decides to give me 2 injuries, 2 red cards vs a 99% team while i had 113% and i lost 2-0 :mad:
2 injuries all season, 1 red card and the last match everything doubles and the games says, they were a lot stronger
