I get it.. An 18 year old w/SA double position... but 72 tokens?! Like at that point just stop and go buy a 69 token 7* scout!! I thought I was gonna win it with 24 tokens with 2sec left.. And then it exploded..

Yes it seems a little bit ridiculous and there are some managers who seem to get excited and for the sake of pride they continue to spend tokens until the other manager gives up, when they could perfectly go to the scout and buy a better player.Quote:

They get sucked in and it becomes a macho pride thing. Crazy behaviour more like in my opinion.
The real token battles were when teams would lose their tokens no matter if they won. Teams would just keep throwing tokens out without thought because they didn't want to lose. You could strategize based around that; if there were a lot of MC's available, you could let the token buyers battle over the top-rated guys and sneak in and grab a 96% player with only a couple tokens.

My limit is 20 tokens
I don't remember spending more than 5T for players below 90% quality since the new auctions system was implemented,so i'm not even watching players over 90% quality and it's suits me better ;)
Aren't 69 token 7* scout all 22 years old? Maybe some people like having good, young players to train up.
I'd never pay that much, but I guess some people don't realise how wasteful they're being or it's an ego thing.
Well, honestly I think 72 is too much but not THAT much. If this one is good, he's going to last for 12 seasons and remain in the high stars that long. All the chances are he's going to be a FT. I would have paid 50 T for sure... if I needed him!
If I was in bad need of a striker for some seasons to come I would pay up to 50 I think for this one. It all depends on how many greens you have... When you have a lot you could go for a 18yo ST in negotiations for maybe 25 tokens and train the SA and positions.
Thing is that ST are not producing the goods these days so I’d be inclined to go for an AMC / AML /AMR anyway.
