when to use force counter attacks

i am in squad and it has a part that says force counter attacks and offside trap.... when should i use them and can i use them both at the same time

Use counter attack if you're playing defencive and Offside trap id you're playing offensive

ok thanks but can i use both if im playing normal

I use it while am "Attacking" and it pays off well for me, helped me to win over better or equal teams.
