Hey everyone,

Might seem wild, but the World Cup is just around the corner, and we’d like to kick off discussion about the competition, what it means to you as a football fan and how it connects to Top Eleven! :)

  As a football country and current champions of Europe, we are anxious to see how the national team will behave in the World Cup. The country stops to watch the games during the day.

What does the excitement and buildup for the World Cup look like in your country?
Here in Spain the football is the main sport, after the Euro's wins and the World Cup seems that Spain recovered some prestige and despite that is complicated to achieve the title again, there's a high level so, all will depend of many factors like the luck and avoid political situations that right now are occurring here.

By the way I will go with Germany. The German flag I bought one day before the finale vs Argentina still in the dining room of ma apartment so, I have more faith in Germany. LOL

What’s your first World Cup memory?

France 98, really I don't remember anything about the one of 94 or the one of the 90, I was too young and I started following the world of football and it's dynamic with the competitions and teams later.
For that year I remember I had the jersey of Zidane bought the summer of the 98 -too I remember I had one of Rivaldo (in gold?¿) and F. de Boer -


What player do you think has had the best World Cup in your lifetime?

Ronaldo, the original was a great player despite O. Kahn is the reason I started following Bayern and Germany, too my addiction for the German sports came from Schumacher in the F! since the 98' . Müller too achieved a record last WC so, he's part of the best of the football.


Do you base your Top Eleven tactics off of a World Cup team?

Tactics nope, but of course, I changed some players names like Cafú etc cause they where in the national teams.


And also, what do you think the World Cup could look like in Top Eleven? Do you have any ideas for what you’d like to see for the World Cup in-game?

Using the FAs feature during one season, divide them in groups of 32 (starting for the top 100 in order, and use the feature during one season to achieve a special WC trophy and some items.

There is no much excitement. The main goal was to qualify everything more than that is bingo xD

No :D

As an England supporter, I have no feeling of excitement about the World Cup, as we won't win it. As soon as someone mentions 'Penalty Shootout'...

What does the excitement and buildup for the World Cup look like in your country?
Here in Nigeria we can't wait to see how our team fares in the world cup especially after finishing the qualifiers undefeated and thrashing Argentina in our last international friendly.

What's your first World Cup memory?
Not my first memory but my favorite world cup memory is of zizou heat butting matterazi in 2006

What player do you think has had the best World Cup in your lifetime?
No one else but Ronaldo! I actually thought he was completely invincible in 2002


Do you base your Top Eleven tactics off of a World Cup team?
Certainly not

And also, what do you think the World Cup could look like in Top Eleven? Do you have any ideas for what you’d like to see for the World Cup in-game?
Let every league winner be eligible to play in the world cup and with tons of tokens as reward to discourage tankers

...if is not posible to do the world cup via FA's.... just modify the Mou team, convert him in a "tour".... so the matches 1-3 can be a group stage, and then 1/8s, QFs SFs and a finale, a 7 matches route.....

or a special edition of the Cup can be done, with everyone representing the nationality of it's club, so this would remind me the V1 of top eleven where the teams had national flags in the CL/Cup rounds.....


but IMO, can be cool change the prizes style as we know, and for example if we reach the finale can be "unlocked" the feature to obtain a 6* younger for the academy in the place of the 4-5* one, for a similar price even if this is a limited feature, let's say during all 2018..... ¿?

I really think that the rewards can go one step more far away and don't be just items... special bonuses, buildings, etc^^

Good idea Khris yeah why not have this kind of challenge then the tour challenge. The World Cup challenge you represent your country.

well there is no excitement for us this time , since my country Italy is out :/ :(

I'm 39yo manager from Hungary. You can imagine my (our) pain and frustration when i'm saying these 2 words: WORLD CUP! :(
I barely remember anything from 86 WC, fun fact i remember much more from friendly before the event where we trashed Brazil easily*** :) That was awesome but after... :(
We can't process the bad performance coz we were "secret fav" or something like that :(
We had such talents as Detári and many more good players...
So we have to wait patiently but i'm bored a little bit. Yep, last Euro cup was a blast but... but... :(

What does the excitement and buildup for the World Cup look like in your country?

Being in a country that has only participated only once in a major tournament it is obvious that we support different teams, but it all boils down to mostly Germany, Italy and Brazil with the occasional dutch fan. To bad my family in-fights won't happen, because Italy trolled itself;).
What’s your first World Cup memory?

France 98. I started supporting France just because I have a french name. I remember everybody making fun of me at summer camp, but then we all know what happened lol.

What player do you think has had the best World Cup in your lifetime? Zidane, and the mighty Fabio Grosso lol

France 98, as kid who discovers football for the first time. second is SA 2010, it happened in the same year I had my high school exams and it helped me relax a bit, I remember watching almost every major match with my classmates.One of the semis happened in my prom night lol.

Let's be real, who bases tactics in reality, manipulate and tank for success.

Honestly about the suggestions I can't waste my breath too much since I already have in the appropriate forum section, it will be a miracle if I keep playing until then but I will try. This game looks like its one update away from kicking me out lol.

There is a joke in Russia:
- Which team are you going to support in the World Cup?
- Why, Russia of course!
- Yeah, but after that?

-As it was expected we didn't qualified (Romania) but we are a country that love football as it is our main sport, pretty much like all over Europe so everyone is excited. Currently living in UK so everyone is speaking about penalties, lol.

- France '98, I was 6 and I remember I use to collect the stickers with the footballers, great times. I still remember the mascot , was the best ever!

What player do you think has had the best World Cup in your lifetime?
- Ronaldo probably, the 2002 edition was just gold.

Do you base your Top Eleven tactics off of a World Cup team?
-Not at all but on the 100th season of Top Eleven I followed more or less Brazil '02, renamed all my players, wear their kit and emblem and we won the treble. Was very nice...

This edition it might be very special as it can be the last one for both Messi and Cristiano who never won it so all the eyes would be on them.

What does the excitement and buildup for the World Cup look like in your country?
Probably about getting the TV rights in my country. As of current, due to the "must-have" rules that requires the WC on the free TV services, and the coverage of 4 years ago results in a loss for their rights holders, no one even bothered trying to buy the rights straight away. The government has already found some sponsors for this and the rights will includes not just TV but also online, so looking forward to how things will go in terms of these.

What’s your first World Cup memory?
I started knowing about the World Cup hype back in 2006 when I was in primary 2, but I don't really care about it too much. It's all happening in 2010 where I can really call it the first World Cup, getting to see all the matches apart from the night games. I was supporting Italy back in 2010 and they were eliminated in the groups, so I switched to Argentina but lost to Germany in the quarters, so I switched teams again to Germany and only managed 3rd place in that tournament.

What player do you think has had the best World Cup in your lifetime?
Any players got called up in this tournament deserves this honour regardless. Because every teams has their own realistic expectations set for the tournament and we'll see how they can achieve.
