Player going up a star despite not gaining a single %

I trained a player of mine whose overall quality was 1% away of next star. He didn't gain any attributes, yet he progressed to the next star level. I remember this happening a couple of times before. Have you paid attention to this?

same thing happened many times with me ... better to start SA or NP before at 9.6 if u wish to train for long term ( gain new skill) or 9.7 if u wish to sell within 10 days max during train..

No, this happened in the evening while I claimed the bonus way earlier in the morning.

some times the gaining goes to quality instead of sa or extra position.
Rare but is happening.
If you want to keep a player in the nego list, the only sure way is not to use him in any training or game
and before opening the daily gift , put him for sale and cancel after that.
