I was in auction bidding for a player and I paid the 1 token to go to the 2nd round after the initial round.

everytime I clicked bid for player it came up your bid hasnt been accepted I did this 3 times without my bid being accepted and the annoying thing is a level 2 player won a 4 star 28 quality player by only spending 2-3 tokens the game wouldnt let me out bid him what is going on?
