On short term this can be a good investment, but personally I like to think long term. An 18-years old fast trainer (85-99%) from the auction is a strong investment on long term. You can invest your greens in them (guess you watch the daily 30 vids for greens?). You can train them specifically so they develep the specific abilities for their position. For example, Alvarado was a player I bought from auction as 99% 18-year old. I trained him a SA and gave him much attacking trainings. Now he is getting somewhere, as you see in the screenshot. He is training less fast now he is 122%, but he will be a great player for future squad and only get better next years.
Scout players are always 22 years or older. They can be good for your squad this season and next, but they will never get specialized as Alvarado in the example above. So if you have the tokens, do it and point your training greens on the young fast trainers you have. If you don't have the tokens, know you don't need them on long term.
Also players proposed by your assistant can be interesting, but please regard their price, age, learning abilities etc. before spening much tokens. Never buy them at the end of season cos they will be -20% soon although you didn't pay for that. Good luck and enjoy, Jura!
