Assigning skill points or not?

We talked about buying bad players to make your team worse for cup drawing for the next season. What about not assigning skill points until the following season? Or does the engine recognize the quality of the team with those unassigned skill points?

Dam my secret`s out my cup got same level but if i added skill i would have been 5/6 better off as it is i`m 2 above most as i`m saving skill points again if i added know i`d have ave 57/8 rating to the 49 rating

Apparently the game recognises unassigned skill points for when a player levels up, so I imagine it would do the same for your team quality

Also, I've seen it on other threads that the engine takes the average of your best 11, so having a bunch of weak players in your squad to get the squad average down might not work
