Does your carreer start from scratch every year?

I have started playing TopEleven this January and I am a bit confused by the fact the app is called "TOP ELEVEN 2019".

Now I was wondering - am I going to keep at the beginning of 2020 the team I have now including infrastructure etc. or does everybody need to start from scratch at the beginning of the new year once there's the new version?

No, TE 2019, 2018, 2017 ... is the new name after a general update (even if this year we didn't have any major change).
You start from the scratch if you 've been inactive for a long time.
