How you know, which Tactic to set?

For example, for some enemy's its really effective to set "passes" to "long passes".
Or sometimes its rly good to play over the wings.

How you know for which enemy what to set?

I use 3-1-2-2-2 and wanna change my tactics individual for EVERY ENEMY...

    ------GK-------
    DL----DC----DR
    -----DMC------
    --MC-----MC---
    AML--------AMR
    --ST------ST--

    Help me pls !

I'm the wrong person to ask as I never play a wide 3 in defence.

If you want instructions for a V style, with 3-5-2v it's best to attack but normal 4-5-1v I'd start off normal mentality, mixed passing, own half, zonal, down both flanks.

How do you set your instructions? I can never get the diamond to work. I'm a fan of it too.

I leave my dmc in normal, and the rest in attack mode, def obviously in def mode, I play mix pass thru the middle.

    I don't believe in Formation!
I have Quality 30 and won against quality 13.
With the same Tactic on both i lost rematch...

So i wanna try to change my instructions for every new enemy...

You're supposed to be the manager, which means that you make the instructions to your players. There's no silver bullet - it's an adaptive game.

The few times that I've played with a formation that puts a lot of players close to each other in the middle I've used short passes and it seemed to work best in that way - I can tell you that much.

... and I've never been beaten by a team playing 3-4-3. As I said - there's no silver bullet.

I dont even have 3 strikers available most of the time, I like midfield-heavy formations (3-6-1/4-5-1) but adapt my defensive midfielders towards the opposing formation.
