What a difference a season makes

Last season i had second best team in the league and could not hit a barn door and finished 9th, some of the results i was getting was unreal even a team 13/ 2 star lower got a player sent off after 4 mins yet they score 3 mins later`s and win ? was i peeved of course i was as would 100% here would be.

now at the start of this season i have best team in league with a couple sold and 3 new players in and the first game i lost 4-1 with 2nd match 2-2, here we go again i thought but since then i have won my last 5 to get me into 2nd, today i was 3rd playing 2nd away a ONLY JUST BEAT THEM 6-2 so here`s hoping it continue`s,

moral of the story you may get promoted every season but at one point you will get crappy one, just hang in their
reddeviljohn and Mr Mercury like this.

My season is a rotten one so far, but I am working with what I've been able to get from the transfer market. All my signings made this season were all basically back-ups to replace what would of been 4* players this season.

I'm 5 points BEHIND in the league this season believe it or not, I've not really improved my first XI except for the key players I've power trained to maintain relative quality and there was nothing good in the transfer market (no fast young trainers), scout list was crap and my youth player on day 4 of the season played in a position that did not need any improvement. I had a feeling from the start when I couldn't get the ideal new signings (because they were not available) that I would struggle this season.

I struggled to make 5th last season. It was my first, and I was just getting to grips with proper training and tactics toward the end. I wasn't expecting to have a flying start in the second season, but so far I'm comfortably on top after 7 wins and winning in the cup also. I've been training the players up daily, playing friendlies for experience, and to rotate the squad, make sure everyone is getting a game of some kind - I've got the orders worked out better and have been buying sensibly - not just jumping at the first seemingly good player on the market - but waiting for particular skill sets as back up - I have a squad of 22 players, back up for all positions. I think I'm doing so well this season because half the players in my league are not training their teams very well. Some of them still have a lot of 1-3 star players, and they're easy to beat.

I got a boot up the arse the other day. Had been giving teams to much respect by playing a defensive 5-3-2, drew 2 games and lost 2. Changed my formation 2 a 4-3-3 and started destroying teams, results since the change have been 3-0, 5-2, 4-0, 9-2 and 5-0, most had the other manager present and i never watched the 9-2 game (had an injury that wasnt replaced in the 31st min)

Today, the guy i beat 5 nil was 1 quality less than me, playing the same formation. went 2-0 down and changed his formation to 3-4-3 but with 2 mc and 2 amcs lol, just added to the tanking! ended up with 20 shots, 13 on target so he was lucky lol
