Buy a player young

I'm trying to improve my squad but I have a simple doubt.
If I have a player DL with 90% and I want to buy a younger one with 95% but lower skills in theose for DL should I buy?

For example, I have a Mal with great skills for that position but skills for defending lower then 20%. Should I consider this player even he doesn't have skills for defending?

I hope I explained well my doubt.

You don t need defensive stats for an attacker. The only skills that are important are the ones that are highlighted as white.
