You have seen it in 3D and known it through Season in Review. Now it’s time to show it!

The first day of the season 168 brings a brand new game mode - Proving Grounds. Seize the opportunity to win amazing rewards and show you’ve got what it takes in this season-long event!

Chapters

The event has four Chapters inspired by a class act match from England’s football history. Your job as a Manager is to challenge the featured team, recreate managerial mastery and complete a set of objectives that will help you progress in the event. The Chapter match can be played an unlimited number of times and every season day you get a free entry. Chapters unlock periodically throughout the season, so keep an eye on the timer.

Objectives

Every Chapter has its own objectives that need to be completed in a match against the featured team. Achieving an objective earns you points that will put you forward towards Chapter rewards. Some objectives can be completed multiple times in one match (i.e. Score goals), while others can be completed only once per match (i.e. Have at least one Free Kick Specialist). Each time you play a match you can complete the same objectives all over again.
During a match you can check the objectives by clicking on the ‘Objectives’ tab. At the end of the match you’ll get the Objectives report where you can check out your objective progress and earned points.

Rewards

In each Chapter you have a chance to earn great rewards! By collecting points from objectives you’ll progress on the Chapter rewards track that offers different rewards, from resources to all-new seasonal boosts. Bear in mind that you can claim a reward only once. Football masterminds who manage to complete all the given objectives per Chapter in only one match will take home the exclusive Master reward.

Let’s check out how some of the brand new rewards work!

• Seasonal Role Boost is an effect that enhances the predetermined attribute of a certain role. Similar to Seasonal Role Boost, the Seasonal Playstyle Boost is also an effect that improves certain attributes of players who own a specific Playstyle, depending on its level. Make sure to place your players in the right role, and in case of a Playstyle boost have at least the Standard level unlocked in order for the boosts to apply. Once claimed, these effects will apply to all eligible players in matches until the end of the season.
• You can also improve your players by training them with more efficient Limited Training Drills. This reward unlocks a new level of Training Drills - Legendary level. It has a limited number of uses and can be used until the end of the season, so plan your training sessions wisely and make the most out of them!

Achievements

Proving Grounds offers 2 kinds of achievements:

• Lifetime Achievement can be earned by unlocking all milestones on the Rewards track for all four Chapters during the season.
• Special Achievement can be unlocked when you win all four Master rewards during the season.

Transfer Focus

Transfer Focus is also a new addition brought by Proving Grounds. You can find it in the Transfer screen representing all featured players of the current theme. These players will come with an increased attribute, so watch out for them in Auctions, Scout, Assistant or Recommended tab!

Note that the Negotiations tab won’t be affected by the Transfer Focus.

I knew when the girl in the video said “there is no limi to how many times you can challenge the opponent” it was definitely not going to be free but funny how she forgot to mention that, but 6 tokens, just for the first round with Denmark!?!?! what a joke, probably will be 10+ in the next rounds

It’s not even every 12 hours; we have 1 free play per season day. And yeah, I’m sure second chapter will cost at least 15T.

Sure enough, in my free play against Denmark, we went for penalties after 0-0 in 120mins with 20+ shots. Then Denmark missed all 3 penalties leading me to a win. In other words, the match was “destined” to be completed with just 1 objective incomplete so that I’m tempted to pay the token price to try again.

Yup, my second match, won 4-0, with of course, 19 shots (had 18 in my first match).
What a joke.
And yes, now the free play is in 24 hours. These guys are simply awful.

So, we must do a hatrick, with 1 from counter. 3-0
But we must do the goal difference to 2 goals. I think we must do a 3-1 score match. What kind of football is this...

the weirdest 1 is stage 2 next week.
where everyone have to score with MR that's false winger in order to master that stage.
that's like very hard to find for top11 managers. well i have 1 but he's 2-3* only

The matches are definitely scripted and we have no influence. Just finished another match, won 4-0. I had 12 shots in 37 mins, and finished the match with 19! I’m sure we’ll see wins of 3-1 but our ST scoring just 2 early on and then missing everything. Or our free kick specialist will score only on active play and no free kick goals.

As I said before, the event is designed to make us go so close but not too here so that we will be tempted to pay the token price believing we’re going to reach the objectives in the next match.

I've got 3 teams at different levels - 17, 74 & 109 and completed the Denmark master award in 1 game for 2 teams and on the 2nd go for the other, so they are achievable
