If you were equal top with a +25 goal advantage,but the other team still had his last game in hand to play, would you log in and support his opponent ?, because if he lost it would be your title or would you think you were being a poor sportsman ?????
I'd support against them. Your probably not going to come across your rival for sometime after this season if you have no other friended teams around in your league thats common friends with them.Quote:

its a good point. imo, i dont like the possession bonuses, im happy if its a bonus for the crowd, but having more possession for the manager being there or friends or rivals i think is poor.
unfortunately, you have to put in alot of time to succeed at this game. attending matches being the main thing, and thats what i dont find fair

I have just done this. I was 1 point behind in 2nd going into the last day of the season and I was playing first and won 1-0. I then went watched his game and supported the team he was playing the team I supported won 3-2 and I won the league!!!!
Its not going to show in your trophy room that you finished 2nd but you were a good sport not supporting against your rival!!! I finished 1st and have that showing in my trophy room, thats what matters.

I always believe, "what goes around, comes around". If I go and support an opponent of a rival team, then I would expect them to do the same to me. How many times on here have we seen posts, complaining about the number of supporters turning up to cheer for their opponents?
And as I said in another thread, I do not believe the number of people watching has any bearing on the match result at all.
I guess it would reflect in real life like a manager who is too busy having a life to attend the matches of his charges, therefore demoralising them and reducing their ability to hold possession.Quote:

I don't really premeditate these things. If I happen to see a live match, I always support underdogs. I'm not sure if it ever worked out though. Most if not all of them lost. If that happened to me, my mentality would be "If you lost with -2% possession, who's to say you would have won without it." That's just me though. Luckily I have enough of a cushion that I rested 9 starters for the last two matches.

yes! hahaha. he drew 1-1. what made it even better was that he was there to watch it happen, so he knows i was there supportng the other guy. even his 10% home advantage wasnt enough. he loses the title by 3 goals!

That I would have to think about. I am always the pessimist and think that if I cheered against a stranger, would he then come back and cheer against me, later on. Frankly, I'd much rather have a match where nobody else, apart from the manager, turned up, so it would be an even playing field.Quote:
