Formation Questions

'Lo!
Been stalking these forums for a while and been trying to learn more about the game but alas I could find nothing to use against the tactic I'm struggling with right now, meaning (4-1-2w-1-2 asymetrical):

DL - DC - DC - DR
DMC
MC MR
AMC
ST - ST


Looks very interesting to me but I'm wondering on 2 things:

1. What's a good counter to this? I assume something with more presence on the left flank? The guy never seems to lose with it whenever.
2. Is it legal? What kind of orders should one be using with such a tactic? I'd be interested to try it out myself sometime.
