How to beat this formation? have tried everythink

been playing one of my friends, and he have a 4-4-2 wide diamond tactic, but cant win, we have equal teams.

his formation is this

I think the best way to counter this is the 4-5-1 V-Formation,

AML-----AMR
--MC--MC--
----DMC----
DL-DC-DC-DR

This will distibute your attacks to the wings, Use both flank focus, normal mentality, mixed passing, normal tackling, yes counter attack + no offside trap.
