What tactics did you use? What's the relative strengths & weaknesses of your team and your opponent. A particular formation alone isn't a magic formula to beat another formation. The 3-5-2V looks the most promising, with passing down the flanks since that's where he's vulnerable. But if you're on the short side of possession then you'd need to beef up the midfield

Maybe something like this with defensive, counterattack, passing down both flanks
Hard tackling if you're outclassed in skill level, normal otherwise
Passing style, I'm not sure about, long never seems to work for me so I usually stick with mixed.

Nobody can give you a real good answer without knowing the strengths and weaknesses of both teams though.
