team help, please!

I'm level 1
current formation.
ST ST
MC MC MC
DML DMR
DC DC DC
GK

This was my default formation and I didn't really change it because I didn't know until I read this forum how much a formation can affect a game.
I sold most of my players to get better ones so I'm stuck with this formation, but the season's almost over, so I was thinking there are much better formations out there so I need help with a new formation.
Any suggestions? I will have a budget of 1M in the next season.
Also I just wanted to ask one thing that bugs me alot.
my team is 17.2 in quality and is MUCH better than the teams I'm facing in my league, yet some of them beat me or a draw happens. Why? :@
