Weird X'Mas tree formation

It's that time of the month again, CL final and I'm up against a X'Mas tree kind of formation against this guy.

First, stats. He's roughly 42 rating while I'm nearly 46. But I'm just worried because I never played against this formation and I haven't found a counter on this forums for it.

It's like this:

Very cute formation, very nice arrow too. But I'm wondering if you guys think 4-3-2-1 will work against it? Accy, July 4th and Potemy and forum veterans, would appreciate your input here!

i have a guy with that formation in my league.....he lost his first game yeterday and took first position. Im currently third with only 2 point diff....and im playing against the currently second one and first one in my last 2 games....away. gonna be interesting :P

i couldnt break him and only one guy did with 4-1-3N-2 formation and he is little weaker but not much....but it was a close call. only 1-0 victory.

I think i'll try 4-3-3.

Just basically playing the ball into positions where he doesn't have much cover on the field of play.

Agree with July, or go for 3-6-1 V or 3-5-2 V. Accyrover suggested that to me a while back and drew 0-0 with a higher level team

Unfortunately my only DMC is suspended for the Final. Any chance of me playing an MC and putting a blue arrow on him instead?

I won't tell you exactly what to do, but here's my input.

To tweak July's plans a little, I personally wouldn't attack down the flanks with only one pretty balanced wide midfielder on the flank, I'd definitely have two on the flank, one D/DM and one M/AM, or even an M and an AM. Normally, 3 DCs would be enough to cover both his ST and AMC, while your midfielders should cover his MCs, but he might be playing counter attacking football, so the DMC could be a good idea. Personally, I think 3 STs are too many.

Technically you drew the second one. Was your sub much worse than the original MC?

yeah its some crappy one star MC...i have 3 5star MCs and one is also MR.....since i couldn't watch the match both times i couldnt move that MR in middle and put MR sub which is 3 star......

yes, technically it was a draw second match....but if i didn't lose that MC which scored and assist before he got injured the game would prolly went into diff direction.

also a draw was a lost for me, the top 3 was very tight and only winning that last match would give me league win....anything else would give me third place.....
