In game tactics vs 4-2-3w-1?

Hi!

Against a slightly better team I start the game with a 3-3w-2-1-1 line up (see below). Settings on defensive, passes through the middle, mixed passes and counter attacks on. Defensive settings on low preassure, normal tackle, zonal and offside trap off.

So, how should I change tactics and/or line up if I:

1. Get a goal in the back, ie need to scoore?
2. Take the lead with a goal?

I am afraid that I am not so experienced (unlike many posters here in the forum) concerning counter formations but I gladly try to help.

First of all: Does "4-2-3w-1" means that two defensive midfielders or normal midfielders are placed? Wide or narrow?

Second of all: What does "slightly better" mean regarding the opponent's strength? How much stronger is he in terms of percentage?

Your tactical settings and your formation indicate that you are playing against a quite stronger opponent. It would help if you could share with us or me some more details regarding this game.

Its hard to give you any advice (at least for me) if some of the relevant information is missing. .)

It's two normal midfielders that are narrow and three attacking midfielders, two wide and one central.

The overall percentage 116 vs 120 to his favour.
Def 118 vs 122
Midf 115 vs 118
Att 121 vs 121

My percentage are the first ones.

And, I've changed my formation so instead of dmc there's three mc where the one in the middle has more def focus. And I moved my amc to st-position.

The game ended with a 3-1 victory. 😀
