    History
Go Leo was formed in October 2013 as Gin Tonic FC by a delusional social media junkie, after some coercion by insecure local keyboard warriors, most of whom reside in the city of Kuching. The team plays wearing the colours Green & White, just because it is quite uncommon and especially to avoid the popular red or blue kit colurs.

In the club's first competitive season, they narrowly missed qualification to the Champions League, losing out to now traditional rivals Xaitan FC by a single point. They surprisingly lost their final league match 0-1 a club languishing in the lower half of the league.

Go Leo won their first ever league title in Season 7-Level 7, pipping VSOP to the title by 2 points on the last day of the season. They came close to securing a semi-final spot in the Champions League but lost out on away goals in the quarterfinals.

Top Eleven Season 5 Cup Competition

    FULL TIME
    Tsv Sparfuchs 0
    Go Leo 1
    (Zainal A.H. 12')

A weakened Go Leo secured a precious 1-0 away first-leg victory over Tsv Sparfuchs this evening. the solitary goal came from defender Zainal Abidin Hassan. Despite dominating the majority of the match, Leo was unable to score more goals to bring a more comfortable lead back to Lion's Way.

The Boss believed that they should have scored more goals and the return leg at home will be tricky.

"We had ten, eleven shots on target and we should've buried two or three of those. In the end we probably made it harder for ourselves for the second leg."

"But I was pleased overall with the performance considering it was our first match at this level."

The match saw debuts for new signings defender Franci Ferraj & goalkeeper Giuseppe Scognamiglio.

"I thought both played very well. Pepe is young but very experience. He will provide some needed competition for that number one spot."

All Go for the new season

    Latest News

All Go for the new season

Go Leo look all set to start the new season, announcing the arrivals of three new signings today.

Goalkeeper Giuseppe Scognimiglio, defender Franci Ferraj & winger Ryan Owens were unveiled this evening at Lion's Way. Scognimiglio, 22 and Ferraj, 20, made their debut at the cup prior to the unveiling and impressed the Boss.

"They are not yet the finished article and they have a long way ahead of them. Both put in really good shift this evening."

Scognimiglio was rarely tested in the match against Tsv Spurfuchs, but looked commanding especially at set-pieces.

"We brought him in as an understudy to (Illyias) Fyntanis but I hope he starts giving me a headache."

Current number one, Illyias Fyntanis, has already declared his retirement at the end of the season.

The transfers of the three new playes cost Go Leo over $8 million and 11 tokens, which could be relatively considered a bargain. It was believed that interest in Ferraj was high and the Boss was obviously happy to have beaten rivals to his signature.

"The club was always on the lookout for a defender and I am pleased to have captured Franci, the boy can also play in the centre or left of defence."

"A couple of clubs were chasing him but in the end we got him. As for Pepe & Ryan, we had managed to keep it under wraps. I think their transfer surprised a lot of people."

The Boss declared that the club will not be bringing in anymore players for now.

"We've completed our piece of business for this season. I don't forsee the need to bring anymore new faces."

Today also saw the departure of Shahrol Samadi (GK), youngsters Giannis Abaris (MR) and Emran Firtina (DL).

    Go Leo roar forward

    FULL TIME
Go Leo 2 (Syazwan Aiman 51', Anani 76')
    Tsv Sparfuchs 0

Go Leo advance with 3-0 aggregate

A sublime Quentin Anani freekick helped Go Leo progress to the next round of the Top Eleven Cup competition at the expense of Tsv Sparfuchs. Go Leo won 2-0 on the night and 3-0 on aggregate.

A capacity crowd of 7000 filled the newly upgraded Lion's Way but they had to wait until the second half to see a breakthrough. The home side dominated proceedings from the start but failed to find a way past a disciplined Sparfuchs defence.

Striker Syazwan Aiman had earlier missed a glorious opportunity in the first half to break the deadlock, but he amends just six minutes after the restart. A nice piece of skill saw him breakaway from the visitors defence which ended with him blasting the ball past the hapless visiting keeper.

The home side rarely gave Sparfuchs a look at goal and French play-maker, Anani made sure of the victory 14 minutes from time as his freekick beat everyone to nestle at the back of the Sparfuchs net.

    Muhmer joins the Lions

Go Leo made a surprise move for experienced German striker Manfred Muhmer. The transfer is believed to have cost $2M with the striker signing a 3-year contract.

When asked about the shock signing, the Boss explained that the club needed more options upfront and that it would help them compete on all fronts this season.

"We have always favoured strike partnerships and with three different competitions to play for, we need to have two pairs of strikers to rotate when required."

"Peter (Tracz) is injured now and it leaves us thin on options. Muhmer will add some much needed quality competition and experience to our existing forward players."

    See them Go!

    See them Go!

Go Leo started their league and champions league brightly, winning their opening matches today.

The first match of any competition will always be a tricky one and this proved to be the case for Go Leo as they scraped a 1-0 win at Rosjana FC. Quentin Anani provided the solitary goal in a scrappy encounter. The match also saw the return of striker Peter Tracz from an injury.

Earlier this morning, Go Leo hosted Nuengruethai in their Champions' League Group G match and an almost capacity crowd witness the home side race to a 3-0 first-half lead. Go Leo scored another two after the break to run out 5-0 winners.

The Boss spoke at a press conference after the match against Nuengruethai, "We are obviously pleased to have gotten to a 100% start to the season. I believe we have not conceded any so far in the league, champions league or the cup."

"This is definitely a confidence booster for our backline."

But the Boss also gave out a word of caution.

"It is still early in the season and there are a lot of things that we do not know about our league opponents. We need to take it one match at a time."

    TV Rights
This season (Season 5, Level 5), Go Leo has opted for Topkers, which is a challenging sponsorship to take up. The club will only gain tokens for every match won in the league and a bonus at the end of the season, depending on achievements. In taking up this TV Rights option, the club believes that this will be motivation for the players and staff to work hard to ensure success on the pitch.

Big mistake. You should always take "extra for dedication" even if you go 26-0-0 with that contract you just taken, you would still end up with less than 35T in a season.
