players lost quality

ok some of my players that i buy with 4 or 5 starts lost quality,they are now on 2 or 1 star,how is this possible

The players never lost quality, that only up never down. The stars of players are given according to the quality of the league, if you up to better league the most players present have a higher quality, then your players stars are lost because they usually are of a lower quality
