Google Chrome is stable, did you try it ?
You got this on notebook or PC ?^^
Sometimes a FlashBlock can slow it down, check your extensions and delete some if you don't use
also clea cache

...I too had this problem in my old portable... Adobe flash player has crashed " it said... did you proved Opera browser?.. I think I did not found solution yet..
