I also have a promotion problem..stayed at 8th place to avoid promotion en still got promoted, and already bought players for next season at the same lvl... i dont want to promote..thats why i stayed out of the first 7.. I already contacted support, but no result so far.
And still no response... are you all on a holiday or what ??
Admins on the forum can't fix this, they can try to explain how and why this happened.. but there's no way they could move your team back to previouse level.
TopEleven anounced some changes about this already, they said they'll be promoting Teams that finished on 8th 9 and sometimes 10 place if needed, in order to complete 14 teams in the same league, same level.
If they didn't do this, you would still find yourself in the same league, being 1 level LOWER than them.. and you would hate it even more.
I know it sucks, guess you have to blame your luck.. but sadly there's no solution for your problem.

No solution..hmm weird, because the could add a cpu player instead of me...but it wont happen as long the dont contact me back.. sorry.. never seen such a slow and inactive support , shame to see that it takes away the fun
