New player appeared in my squad

A new player just appeared in my squad

he is 33 year old and will retire at end of season

I did not buy him I don't want him..this happened once before both times after end of season

any ideas

This is because you had less than 14 players at the end of the season. 14 players is the required minimum for a team going into next season. If you don't buy players to satisfy this amount, old players are added to your team.

so now im lumbered with this player and will cost money to release him

I have 2 players up for sale if I don't buy before they sell I guess I will have more old players

You won't have more new players automatically added. This only happens during the transition from one season to another.

Sacking him is free iirc
