Oh man that is wrong, league/group format only goes to results Vs when you are tied on points, goal difference, goals scored and goals against....so example - 10 pts, 10 scored, 7 conceded on BOTH teams.
Goal difference is ALWAYS 2nd choice after points....

Not in UCL it isn't - if a tie on points then goes to head-to-head record...

1st points, if both have same points 1st is the result between your teams, the 2 teams only, points obtained in these 2 matches and if both won 1 match or draw double, sure that he have the goal average advantadge. These are the rules of the real CL.
