Mate how old is your phone, even my smartphone (the old one of my wife) is able to do that and that phone has very low memory and is at least 8 years old

Mi max has 3GB ram and android 7 (miui 9).

Instead of downloading from the play store, go to your mobile browser > google > write : Top Eleven apk (search) > go to some page which offers TE apks > download the last version > go to your downloads and open it from there
