totally the same for me. i even called a RL Friend and asked him but he received it and got the +30% Finishing skill.
The event payout was exactly 4 hours 30 min ago after it disapeared for me. (i could be wrong though if the 2nd Place would have scored 6 goals in last match he would pass me). But since i dont know how to see the Results of the Event or Last Seasons matches or anything. Maybe im wrong and u can?
I have already such a ****ty mood since Fyber and Ironsource owe me over 2000 TOKENs and now this arghhh

I got the same answer from Lian. I did not do anything else than in previous seasons. I won top scorer events before and I could always claim the prizes as intended. This time the event just disappeared.
The main point is now to be 100% sure you've been registered to the event... this occur every season, some managers forget that it works by, joining the event - winning the top -claiming reward....then ofc. can exist a issue...
i join at the beginning of every season khris. i have won top scorer for the past 12 seasons. an event i take very seriously. I expect a proper answer from Lian. how weak and cowardish of him to PM managers saying they didn't join. the truth is he can't be bothered sorting it out for us ? come on, deal with it and issue us our prizes !!!!

A new top scorer event has started. I'm watching very closely at the screens. I may add screenshots later if I have the chance.
The home screen states: "Top Scorer Challenge" "In progress" and has a "View" button.
I click the View button. A pop up opens, but I do not get a "Join Challenge" button on the low-right corner of the screen. Instead, I see a Training button.
Now my question: how on earth do I join this event?
For those who wonder why I know about the "Join Challenge" button: I have two accounts. On my second account I got a "Join Challenge" button and I was able to join the event there. On my first account no button appeared.

@Guido if you press the view button and then see the screen with the rewards and the training button that means that you've joined the event.

I 've read about this issue in some other posts too but it's not a general bug (not for every one).
But because they and we are not sure if joined the event (and the support cannot go back in the previous season data) I think it's good to keep a screenshot last day of the season.
At least to get the greens and some compensation from support.
Nik, please tell me. How am I supposed to join when there is no join button? It is quite obvious that some users do not get this button. I can only guess about the reason, since I did not develop this game. Seeing the Training button is not sufficient, although Lian says so. I saw this button many times last season and I see it right now. This season again, I did not join the event, since I did not push the non-existing button.
some steps
1) Have the latest update/version
2) This event starts usually the 3rd day of the season.
3) f you don't see it (bellow the main screen with the upcoming match, check the meny button "Events"
If you don't see it there too, ask communities (forum, TE fb groups) if there is a contest this season (sometimes there isn't).
4) If there is this event, clean cache or re-install the game.
If still there isn't any event for you, send a ticket to support.
5) Day 28 of the season, keep A. a screenshot proving that you have joined the event (must see "Training" instead of join).
6) Keep b. a screenshot with the Top 5 of your League.
7) Day 1 of the season, must see the "Claim" button (it ends day 2, late night).
If cannot see it, check also the Events menu.
If not, repeat step 4) , also sending the A. and B. screenshots.
Compensation from support ? For 30% finishing skills only ? How they gonna do that ? That would be around 500 greenpacks
Also Niko I use a pc so always the latest version and i take this event very seriousl and win it every season for the past year. It's a bug and I want my prize, end of story

I see the event. That is not the problem.
I have 2 accounts. I logged into the game on both accounts using the same device. First account had no join button, but directly showed the training button. Second account had a join button. After I pressed the join button, the training button appeared.
The bug is that the join button does not appear on my first account. This did not happen last season and also did not happen this season. I’m pretty sure that my first account is not registered as joined for this event. Lian should be able to check this, since he seemed to be able to check this afterwards for last season.

There are two fails here.
I play the game from 2014 and people were asking to play TE without fb so nordeus added the option to play with g account.
Then FA started, million g accounts created also to take advantage on some tricks (loans, friendlies, nego-mutants).
Every month we had update and there it was that many bugs started.
The second fail is that this event should be a permanant feature, not to join and claim every season.
Also should give 10 tokens as a prize like as it started.
Remember that you still have to claim your prize. An abandoned team will never do that. There is absolutely no reason for this misterical 'registration' for these kind of events. It adds nothing to the whole thing.
And besides that, it's also not working for some users, since they do not see the registration button at all.
Our dear friend Lian assured me that I'm registered for this season's top scorer event. I will certainly contact him afterwards, when I will not be able to claim my prize once again. And I will also keep asking him to perform this check for as long as the registration exists and there is no in-game feedback about the user being registered for the current event.

Saucy closed the thread without explaining what infractions had occured. I didn't see any disrespect in comments. All I was met with was Lian not assisting us with the problem and seeing it through so we got our rewards.

I can understand perfectly the frustration, still actually I guess nothing can be done, but think that, if there's a mistake/bug, this thread will allow to track the issue and check out in a definitive way if theres something there affecting some accounts.

Kris, there was nothing that could not be shared publicly in Lian’s pm. His post was actually quite nice, although it did not contribute anything to a possible solution. I do not understand why he keeps sending me pms in the first place. I prefer discussing this matter openly. As you stated yourself, more people experience the same problem. Closing threads and removing posts does not help the debate. It is impossible for others to understand what this is about, with two different threads and incomplete posts. In my opinion, as a moderator you are not doing a very good job here.

Now, to the matter of whether or not you've joined the event @Guido: If you see the training button, then you've joined the event as Lian mentioned. Is it possible that you had already joined on both of your accounts this season? Seeing the training button is an indication that you've joined the event, but I take the feedback that it could include some other indicator of having signed up (some text saying you've joined, etc). We've forwarded this on to the team.
For Richie, as I understand you've been communicating with Lian in PM about your issue and further info about your specific case will be delivered there. But for the future, the event only stays visible into the new season if you have the prize to claim up until the new league campaign begins.

You are just making your own story and interpretation. And be sure that the reason why we the mods answer many questions/discussion that we receive via PM, isn't to expose publicly these messages.
It's compatible, keep a respect for the private conversations, and point&discuss openly any issue. Do you want me to start opening posts and doing copy/paste of all PMs I have? really you want me exposing people like this?
And yeah, the public response, could be the same as the private message, but IMO thats about courtesy, is that simple, there's no need to convert this in something personal against the person who try to help you.

I, for one, would happily have "violated" the rules in this way if needed, so I believe that, if It's the intended meaning, rules should be rewritten to the effect that devs' and mods' PMs and support tickets should not be quoted, nor summarized, nor probably even mentioned.
