There is nothing wrong with the way he plays. He has to put in alot more effort. Selling many players, buying many players and training many players all within a short period of time. You are welcome to try it. It is not against the rules to play this way.
I do not think that a player who uses the same team season after season without spending tokens deserves to win over someone who spends resources. And everyone should trade during the off season like normal football clubs do. Who sells and buys players in the middle of the season? Everything should be done after season end and before season starts. If you want to restrict yourself from selling players before season end, thats your decision. Everyone manages their team differently.
