Won the player but not in my team?

i was the only team bidding on a certain player today and watched the timer count down to the very last second until zero. Then the timer turned into text that read "wait". well i waited and waited until nothing changed. i then refreshed the page and the player was not in my auctions tab at all. Not even marked down as "won" or "lost" nothing. he completely disappeared. WHY?

I believe this happens when you keep the window opened for a long time.
Happend to me a couple of times.
