I would go 3-4-1-2 attacking on flanks. It's important that you have some special abilities in your team, like free kicks and corner specialists. These players won me some important games.
4-5-1 V-style would be perfect, but any formation/tactic that utilizes the flanks should do it. Even copying the 3-1-4-2 should work - just set long passes on both flanks.
I need to say that no AM in my team.... just AML but withiut AMR... so... copy his tactic or what ? Maybe 4-4-2, red arrow on ML and MR, same long passing, both flanks ? But how to stop the most dangerous his DMC ? Maybe just 1 MC blue arr?

3-1-4-2 naturally counters 4-4-2 flat so no.
Narrow diamond might work, but since i ve been using 3-1-4-2 for 2 seasons now i say the most troubles came from 3W-1-3W-1-2, or 3n-1-3w-1-2.
yeah but still you want me to play with amc... dont have, i have only DMC.... any ideas ? please help, match in 3 hours....
442 Classic did it for me...normal,both Flanks, own half, normal tackling (always), short passing, zonal...counter yes..red arrow on MR, ML and one ST ... wrecked up a good Player 5:1 (was surprised too) but less quality Team than mine ...5 points less
Moved to appropriate section.
I'd use 4-4-2 Hex to beat him, focus down his flanks, as he has some heavy defensive power down the centre with 3 DC's and a DMC.
