i would say
4-2-2-2 hexagon
or
4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond
-
How would a 4-2-2-2 hexagon look?
Thanks for the quick response.

I've had great results using narrow diamond against 4-4-2
Only thing I don't what tactics will be better for you.
I've tried short passing, but I think I get better results with mixed and long balls!

mixed passing are OK
But I never play long pass because long pass are for counter attacks
I play mostly with 2-3 MC's to control middle with short pass
but you can use mixed pass
-
After scoring 1 goal I later changed to long + counter to manage score more goals and It worked!
I think I did that when I was 1-1 while playing an important game

Rookie
you did well
as i said long pass goes only with counter attacks
it did well to you because when other team plays attacking mentality you can easy counter them
-
Just curious.
What tactics would you use against 4-4-2 using Hexagon?
Down both flanks with red arrows on DL-DR and AML-AMR?
-
Rookie
well for 4-2-2-2 you put RED Arrow on AML / AMR
but if you see you need extra attacking you can change to :
attacking mentality
with offside trap : ON
then put Red Arrow on DL/ DR
