4-1 (cm)-2 (RW/LW(-3 (strikers) ---how to counter it???

I'm playing against a guy who has 4 defenders, just 1 central midfielder and then two wingers ahead of that...ending with 3 players on top.

Would a 5-4-1 work, trying to overload his central midfield?

edit: i forgot to mention that he uses a COM too!

5-4-1 would work, you could also consider using 4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond, with blue arrow on DMC, or the DMC is moved to DC

I suggest an equally odd formation:

    DR--DC-DC--DL
    ---DMC-DMC---
    MR---MC----ML
    ---------------
    ------ST------

If you think you might like that, look at my topic history, I used it recently resulting in a 1-0 victory. I posted my tactics there as well.
Manager of Foresters FC and Guide FC. Both teams on server '161'.

Wondering if I took the time to type out that fancy formation? Nah, check out my python script!
