probably he attacks from Right wing you need to place DMR and DMC in your formation.
anyway i'd for
3N(DC)-3W-2(MC)- 2ST.
mixed pass and from both flanks.

I read your answer to late game was started. I played with 4-5-1 v style and won the game 4-2.

no it's not a illegal formation. he have players on both flanks.
