Yeah, I've never played against that, at a guess I'd start with narrow diamond, but be prepared to change it up if that's ineffective. I hope someone clever has a more definitive answer for you.

It is not strange, it is formation pre-prepared by T11 (See "Formations" -> "pre-defined formations" in "Squad" menu)

and there you can find:
3N - 2DML/DMR - 3N - 2ST counter by: 4 - 4 - 2 classic or 4 - 1 - 2 - 1 - 2 narrow diamond

I am not the right person for asking this question I use same formation for several seasons, only with slight changes. I also use same tactics for several seasons (depending on formation).

For narrow diamond I would use:
- attacking mentality
- attacking through the middle
- pressing on whole pitch
- agressive tackling
- short passes
- zoning defense
- no counter-attacks
- no off-side trap
