How to beat 4-4-1-1

Ok. In CL, i meet someone who r use 4-4-1-1. First leg on his stadium(away) i lost 1-0 with 4-1-3-2. And we have same avg quality.

Any ideas to destroy them? Thanks.

Table of counterormation suggests 3-5-2 or 4-5-1V. I'm playing 4-4-1-1 in about an hour as well and will start off with 3-5-2 or 3-4-1-2 as I want to field my 2 ST.
I'm still considering my counter for 4-4-2 which is 3N-1-3W-1-2 btw

4-4-2 Normal mentality down the flanks. 4-1-4-1 works too. But a lot depends on GE & random factors it throws in.

Match just ended and we won 4-2. I started out with 352 flat and changed to 3412 just before halftime when it was 2-2. I was a fair bit (6 points) stronger though.
