Question Asymmetrical 4-4-2 in Champions League Final tonight

    Hi,

This is my first post, and considering I'm facing my first ever Champions League final tonight, I'd appreciate some feedback on my tactics for the game.

My opponent is using an asymmetrical 4-4-2 formation that I haven't encountered before, and although I've read up thoroughly on tactics, game mechanics and formations, I'm still not quite confident on my best setup.

    Opponent:
    ------ST----ST-----

    -----MC -MC -MC--MR

    DL--DC------DC----DR

My plan is to use a 4-5-1 V with up arrow on my DMC:

    --------ST----------
    AML------------AMR
    -----MC----MC-----
    -------DMC (up)---
    DL--DC---DC---DR

    Orders:
    Attacking
    Mixed Passing
Whole Pitch with Offside and Force Counter
    Normal Tackling
    Zonal marking

It should be noted that although I am substantially higher average quality that my opponent, he has an excellent run of form (hence being in the champions league final)

I know there are no magic formulas or winning formations, but as I'm only 1 month into the game, a bit of experienced advice and feedback would be hugely appreciated.

Please also note that I can build almost any formation you recommend, as my squad is now at 100% health and I have good coverage for all available positions.

    Thanks!

    Ed

Hmm. I would suggest also using a 4-4-2, although his is asymmetrical. Just copy-paste his, I suppose. It helps with classic 4-4-2.

If was i i would play 31312 with AMR and ST in center and left, so also assimetrical, you should be ok or just the normal 31402.

    Won 3-2 using:

    --------ST----------
    AML------------AMR
    -----MC----MC-----
    -------DMC (up)---
    DL--DC---DC---DR

    Orders:
    Attacking
    Mixed Passing
Whole Pitch with Offside and Force Counter
    Normal Tackling
    Zonal marking
