    4-1-3N-2 beaten me. Please help.

    Hi,
Today I've played a league game versus 4-1-3N-2. I decided to start the game with formation suggested in table of counter formations: 4-3N-2W-1. I've played at home, got much better players, had 70% of possesion and I've lost 2-3!
I played with normal tactic (switched to offensive in second half) and wing attack, zone and mixed passing. I had also a bonus for players for winning set for 2/4.

I've no idea what I did wrong but I have to figure it out cause tonight I have a Champions League game with oponent playing same formation.

Could someone suggest what to do with such formation?

    Greetings from Poland

you could try the same formation again as suggested or even i think a good 4-4-2 classic would work either with focus on the full backs attacking possibly. its hard to beat 4-1-3-2 through the middle so you need a formation that would attack it where it is weakest down the flanks while keeping their midfield occupied. if you wanted to risk everything like i have done before against this formation when in trouble i would take go with just 3 in defence (3n) and put on an extra forward or striker to the 4-3n-2w-1 and go with 3n-3n-2w-2. but i am just guessing here, just go with what you think will be the best

    Thanks for sugestions.
I just read a TimYoung guide to this particular formation and I still have problem what to choose. But I've read that 4-4-2 is not strong against it.
Right now I'm thinking about the same as previously (4-3N-2W-1) or 3-1(defensive)-3N-2W-1 or even what you've suggested but I'm not sure that only 3 dc can handle his offense...
    What you think about it?

Actually, this season I kept drawing with 442. I am not sure whether it is because my def mcs are all out but the score line have always been close even in previous seasons.

My suggestion is either try 442 or 3N def with 2strikers or formations that attack down the wings as Thomas said. I have never had a problem beat 43n2w1 tho and actually stomp that formation hard.
