How to beat 2-1-2-3-2

Hi all,

I'm about to play a guy who is top in my league, all of his players are scouts or above and he is using the following formation:

ST ST
AML AMC AMR
MC MC
DMC
DC DC

I'm not sure how to counter it, I was planning on using 5-4-1, Defensive, long ball through the middle, hard tackling. I decided against hard as he has a few free kick takers, my formation is below:

ST

ML MC MC MR

DL DC DC DC DR

I can say that I won with a 5-4-1 formation. No red arrows and played the long ball to a one v one specialist.
