How to beat the classic 4-4-2

First few seasons I have used 4-3-3 with great success, dominated very well. lately i have struggled and not entirely sure why. Did not even make it into CL but finished 5th which is disappointing.

I am not playing cup and lost 1-0 at home against a 4-4-2

I am around 7 quality better than him

He has a strong ML, and LMC on the left, and a strong DR and RCD

How can I go around him, I dont have a AMC or DMC, but I can buy one if need be.
