Blue Arrows to both DC, red Arrows to ML/AML and MR/AMR

normal
both flanks
pressing whole pitch
tackling normal
passing mixed
zonal marking

and counterattack if opponent doesn"t have no Am

1 mc must be also a good defender en fast to help the dc"s the other good passing and creative/Fast

i thought it would be easy for Paul Grant (topic-starter)to get an impression what to do

Firstly I would like to say thank you for your information you provided! Today I played 4-4-2 with those instructions and the whole match I was dominated 70/30 in his favor. Is there another formation that beats other formations and provides goals galore?

No but just press your own half of pitch, and used mixed passing , tackling style hard and go beat the whole league xxxx ( or by lots of tokens ) lol
