I have a guy in my league owning every team in the league, cup and CL. Now he is joint leader in the league and reaches both finals in cup and CL. He never changes formation but he usually watches his matches. I used 451V and lost 4-1. His team is all 5 stars and one or two scouts only but his strikers are good.

It's hard to say whether its the best formation but i've noticed the last 2 seasons that teams with 3 strikers are doing very well. The guy who's in second in my division this year plays that formation and he's only lost 2 games and that was when me and the guy in third played 5-4-1 flat.
I'm not gonna take any credit for the idea i copied the guy in third after he won :D

Insane, no team in the world plays with 3 strikers.
In real life, best case scenario, you can have 2 strikers, but most of the times one of them will play as a Second Striker.
Out of this Top11 nonsense a very powerful attacking team like Bayern plays with 1 Striker:

Chelsea plays with one striker, Man City plays with one striker, Real Madrid plays with one striker.
Barcelona plays with one striker, the whole world plays with 1 striker.
I bet this nonsense of winning teams with 2 and 3 strikers is some idea to appeal to "those-countries-you-know-what". People over there tend to think you only have to play with 2 defenders and 8 strikers for better success.

Being a Portuguese I can tell you that Cristiano Ronaldo is a WINGER, not a Striker.

or
Edinho
Never any of them in pairs, let alone trios.

I look at it more like a conflict of terms Celtic, the total football of the Dutch for instance was called 433 as well. In holland we still use 433 to describe a style with 1 central striker and 2 wingers.
In essence most top teams use 1 striker & 1 no 10 (Man Utd, Man City) - conveniently referred as 4-4-2, in T11 this is probably 4-4-1-1 or 4-5-1.
or 1 striker and 2 very advanced wingers (Portugal, Arsenal, Bayern Munich) - conveniently referred as 4-3-3. In t11 this is probably a 4-3-2W-1
or just have one striker (Pass the ball to Messi)
The only time I've seen any team use 3 out and out strikers is Man Utd vs Tottenham after they went 3-0 down at HT and CR7 (converted), WR & Tevez were all camped in the last 3rd....
In T11, the use of seemingly wingless 4-2-1-3 is probably the type of formation deployed by Arsenal this season. And the wingers are basically the two outer strikers and DR/DL.
Well that's just me trying to rationalise T11 formations. Anyway, there is no Super formation, just Super players & quality of opponents faced.
I've seen 4-3W1-2 dominate leagues, 5-3-2, 4-4-1-1...different leagues have different "Super" formation. It all clicks if you happen to get the right players.
I probably would've dominated my league with 4-4-2 hexagon but was overwhelmed by my rival who mirrored my 4-4-2 hexagon midway in the season and now leads my league. Lost to him when I needed a win.

I'll admit we haven't got the strongest squad atm, but what can you expect that from any small country with a league like ours. Our track record hasn't been that bad over the last 10 years though. I would wager to say that a lot of the succes from Spain and Barca in recent years, has been founded upon the football genius of a Dutchman. I'll let you guess who.
The CL is just a tool for the big clubs in the big leagues to secure their stronghold on European football and benefits no one but the rich. And quite frankly, it's getting boring compared to the old EC1 2 and 3. The fact that practically no club from small traditional footballing nations like Denmark, Hungary Holland, Romania etc will ever win the CL is because of the Bosman arrest which allowed teams to field 11 foreign players and has absolutely nothing to do with anything else.Quote:

No, let's not, lol. Perhaps you hit a tiny nerve, as I long back to the times where Steaua Bucharest, Partizan Celtic, Rangers and Ajax to name just a few, were still able to compete for the top with predominantly domestic players.

Lucky youssss....i come from a country where the FA is reluctant to privatise the domestic league so that it cud be good enough to be classified as Class A in order to qualify for 2 Asian CL. And the world wonders why we are so fascinated with European football...

Here in Europe the people want to revert this madness, to go back to good homemade football, to have again predominantly national teams, to have players earn human wages and to get rid of spoiled billionaires and glory hunters.
As someone from England and a lifelong Gooner even i would rather see the big leagues given less places in the CL. Even if that meant my team missing out. Every nations Champions should be automatically entered if there's any spaces left then give it to the holders or by UEFAs wacky ranking system.Quote:

What people seem to forget when they talk about keeping the CL in it's current format is that if it went back to champions only the popularity of the Europa league would increase massively. I hate the seeding system too i wanna see groups of death from the beginning, back in the good old knockout days it was open.
You could even give the winner of the Europa league a CL place that would make both tournaments amazing in my opinion. But as both UEFA and FIFA are a bunch of corrupt idiotic barons i can't see that happening :(

You do realize that 4-4-2 is the super default, super powerful formation? Once you get a balanced set of players, playing 4-4-2 will win you matches. It's a formation I've been itching to play for one whole season, but the fact that it is too "default", turns me off from playing it. Why don't you challenge yourself and explore other formations.
