How to beat this tactic: He play 4-1-3W(AML-AMC-AMR)-2 or 4-DMC-AML-AMC-AMR-2ST

I lost 1-2 at home with a poor formation(the same formation as him) and most of my players are better than his (one star higher)
What kind of tactic should I be using?
I have 8x 6stars players, 4x 5 stars and slightly better than his.

Should I play out of position with my ML and DL as AML and DMR.
my ML is slightly weaker than his DR, my DL is better/faster than his MR

In fact, you will lose if use 4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond to counter 4-4-2 classic

My friend use 4-4-2 to give his 4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond opponent a 7-0 smash, even their players quality are similar.

His quality is just abit better than mine. Is this formation going to be attacking focus through the middle or the flanks?

Was thinking of using either 4-4-2 or 3N-2-2-2W-1 againts it.

Or is 4-5-1V a better option?

How would i beat 3W-1-2-1-3 narrow diamond, there is only a wide diamond listed but no alternative, he is 23.5 average quality and i am 28.5 average quality, should i just copy and see how i fair?
