4-1-3N-2 can be beaten by 4-3-2-1 with AML/AMR

I think this is a very useful thread, as you said it's impossible to use the search function for formations and this will definitely reduce the amount of "how to beat XXX formation" threads on here.
Danish Zaidi and kullehh like this.

It means narrow. W means wide. 4-1-3-2 can be played in 2 different ways, the wide midfield (ML-MC-MR) or the narrow midfield (MC-MC-MC)

I wasn't a big fan of counter formations either, but with all those posts in the How to win against any formation thread or various other how to beat this formation, It helps if we can devise some sort of table if they want to improve chances of winning against various formations, I've played about and switched formations in important cup games last season and it does help.

In your opinion, what would be a good counter against 4 - 1dmc-2mc-2amc-1? Both teams are about the same strength. From the defensive point of view is enough 4 defenders + 1 dmc?

Is for a cup match, first leg was 1-1 away. I'm thinking to play 4-1-4-1 or 4-5-1 v style, defensive+counter attack+down both flanks.
Another idea would be a more attacking formation like 3N-1dmc-4-2 with red arows on ml/mr, but being a cup game i incline tp play safer, at least in the first half.

    Any opinions?
