I played 2 Cup games against 4-1-3N-2 formation. People were discussing it a lot and I saw about 5 different advises how to beat it, but stayed with 4-3N-2-1. My opponent was 1 level higher and had a little bit better skills on the field.
1st game (at home) my players' conditions were around 50% and the game ended 2:2, he tied it at the very end.
For the 2nd game on the road I rested my players to at least 90% and got pretty easy win. Long passes down both flanks worked perfectly. Both goals came from my AML and I won 2:0.
So I guess 4-3N-2-1 works just fine against 4-1-3N-2.

Can I assume the 4-1-4-1 formation is flat DL-DC-DC-DL/DMC/AML-AMC-AMC-AMR/ST? Or can the DMC be interchanged with MC depending on quality or availability of players? Or interchange the offensive 4 across the ML=>MR line for the same reasons? Obviously, doing this presents a more defensive posture. Also, I notice there are no indicators for use of red/blue arrows in the table for any formations.

    No it's played with ML-MC-MC-MR

Also, red/blue arrows are totally up to the manager and how they want their players to play.

Hello, thank you for answering. But if I play with this formation offensive will not be too much and I will suffer more defensively? To make 4 defenses sure, for that it attacks for with 2 forwards and 2 ends. On the other hand, for that you would put a DMC? My rival does not have AMC, it would not do very much in this position, not? I play in his house, I him would like to play at marking all the possible goals, but without neglecting my desk. That They think of 4-4-2? With the ML/MR in assault or normal? Thank you very much.

Faced this formation against much stronger opponent and won played 4-5-1 flat, long balls and counters. Had descend defenders and descent ST.

If Your opponent is not much stronger You can try narrow diamond (4-1-2MCs-1-2) with usual settings.

You are much stronger, and his wingers are weak. I suggest You narrow diamond, red on AMC, blue on DCs, could be blue on DMC, trough the middle , mix attacking/normal, short/mixed if You watch the game. Ball possession is Yours.

    All decisions are Yours !

    Post results/stats.

    My opponent :

I believe that there is to use 2 better formations two are these :

But answer me to two questions please.

In order that it would serve that I was playing with an AMC if my rival plays with a DMC?

For that I to play with a DMC if my rival does not play with an AMC?

Thank you very much to all :P
