Your orders look fine, but sometimes the opponent just has good tactics to counter your formation. The 4-2-2-2 is a very offensive formation, and so if the opponent has a good setup and force counterattacks on, they will be able to expose your formation and beat you, even if they aren't as good. It is always good to have other formations in your back pocket to switch to.
