For 4-5-1 V, it depends because it can be attacking and a defensive formation. So it depends on how you want to play it.Quote:

Had to suffer under a real-life friend, who had the brilliant idea to set up a test match 40 minutes before the match without announcement. Cleared it on FB already, but I am sure that that wasn't the main reason, it was probably my tactic. I tried a 3DC-DML-DMR-2DM-AML-AMR-ST with attack down the flank, attacking formation, short passing, offside trap. My team was in average ~1 star better, I had 60% possesion, but he created more chances. I am happy about any helpfull comments (even laughing about my mistakes, because then I can try to fix them and improve). :)
How to play against this formation

I would try a 4-4-1-1 (DL-DC-DC-DR-ML-MC-MC-MR-ACM-ST) and attack through the center because he only blocks the wing.

maybe is not problem which formation u use, but in scouting the oponent-if you do that you will have more chance to win , tnx :)

didn't work : 4-1n-2n-1n-2 , it was a draw 1-1 and finised 3th in CL group :(
You could try 4-1n-2n-1n-2 or 4-2n-1n-2n-1 as they have strong wing defence but weaker in the middle. Focus passing through the middle. Mixed passing with Counter attack, or short passing without.
Against 4-4-1-1 I use 4-5-1v style as the dmc counters their amc.
